On Sunday, a motorist who hit the gas instead the brake drove into the front of medical offices located at the rear of the Hazlet Professional Court at 80 Hazlet Avenue, said Hazlet Police.

The offices were empty on Sunday and the male driver, who police did not name, was not injured. The black BMW he was driving had minor front damage.

Construction official Dennis Pino said that a building inspector was summoned to the site. Some "quick structural repairs" were undertaken, he said, but more will be needed. The office of the doctor whose office was impacted will work in an adjoining space on Monday, he said.

The offices are located next to Pep Boys.

Hazlet Fire Co. and utility crews were also summoned to the scene to make sure the building was safe.

The accident is under investigation by police.
