Holmdel’s Bayshore Academy of Dance Part of The Radio City Rockettes' 85th Celebration
Please help us celebrate this tremendous milestone!
Our dancers performed in NYC with students from NYC dance studio Broadway Performing Arts Center, in a free holiday showcase to ring in the season.
The video of the performance is now entered into the National Dance Week Foundation’s Kick It Challenge, showing support for the 85th Rockette Celebration and their belief that "together we are better." We are 1 of 20 finalists!
Now, it is time to VOTE. Visit www.nationaldanceweek.org. And click on NDW kickline. Follow the link to video. We are video #14. You can vote up to 10 times.
Owner and Director of Bayshore Academy of Dance, Lynn Scheps, has been teaching dance for 49 years. She opened Bayshore Academy of Dance in Hazlet, 1979, relocating it to Holmdel in 1997. Lynn studied in New York City with master teachers: Charles Kelly, Luigi, Phil Black, and Don Farnsworth. Lynn has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in drama from Farleigh Dickinson University. She was an adjunct theater/dance professor at Brookdale Community College.
Lynn’s philosophy on teaching is that dance is for a lifetime. Not only does she teach steps, but teaches the history behind the music she uses. Lynn encourages her students to attend live theatre and ballet, whether it is a school show, community theatre production, touring company or a Broadway show. Through these experiences, the students gain knowledge of the way dance should look like.
Bayhore Academy of Dance is located in Kohl’s Plaza on Route 35N next to Villa Pizza.
