Ryan Granito, a fifth grade student at St. Benedict School in Holmdel has been named to the 2012 Pop Warner Little Scholars Honorable Mention Team.

Granito, an Old Bridge, New Jersey resident, was one of several boys chosen from a pool of over 9.700 athletes nationwide. As a result of being selected as a Pop Warner All-American Scholar, he is invited to attend the 52nd Annual All-American Scholar Banquet, taking place on May 25 and 26 at the Yacht & Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World.

“It feels good to work hard on the football field and off," Ryan said. "My parents always tell me that good grades are important. I am proud that Pop Warner gave me this award.  It makes me want to work hard to show other kids that you can be a great athlete and still have time for homework.”
